Laser removes the hair by a process called selective photothermolysis. The light energy from the laser is transferred into thermal energy in the hair follicle, with the laser energy targeting melanin, the pigmented region in the hair follicle. Heat from the laser is absorbed by the melanin in the hair resulting in the follicle being destroyed.

Yes, you can. please wait 10 days after your treatment before shaving. The only time we require you to shave is 24 hours before your appointment.

There may be some slight discomfort, which some describe as a snapping of a rubber band. Overall, the treatments are well tolerated. We use a dynamic cooling device (DCD) which shoots out cryogen to cool the skin before the laser pulse is fired.

Yes, I am successfully treating patients with hormonal hair growth. It is always best to see a Doctor to discuss this prior to commencing LHR as you may need medication to help balance your hormones, specifically testosterone as this hormone can encourage hair growth in women. Long term maintenance treatments will be required and complete clearance may not be achieved.
